I am a Kentucky native; I grew up just next door in Shelby County and graduated from Shelby County High School. After high school, I attended the University of Dayton (Go Flyers!) in Ohio where I double-majored in history and education. After graduating from college, I taught for three years in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, I returned to Kentucky and have taught in Kentucky (Shelby and Franklin Counties) ever since. I also completed my Master’s degree in history at UofL in 2010, further cementing my history-geek status. I'm looking forward to my 14th year at FCHS and 22nd year of teaching overall!
Being a teacher and a mom takes up most of my time! I have a two daughters, a 13 and 12-year-old, So, that thing some people call “free time” is something I know very little about. If, however, I am able to relax, I enjoy playing with my daughters, Samantha and Rose, reading a good book, and watching Notre Dame football (Go Irish!).
